I watched to see if the lady was going to start clearing the table, and after about five minutes she finally did. Not helpful since we were already there and reservation-less, and maybe you should put that on the site? I started to ask a question when she said, "If you guys want to look around and pick your pieces then I guess I can clear off that table over there for you to use," gesturing to a vacant table nearby. "Right, but you should make a reservation because sometimes it gets busy like on the weekends." Okay. She asked if we had a reservation, I told her no since the website indicated it was not necessary to make one as a smaller group. I said hello, explained that we had 3 people in our party, and that it was our first time coming to Color Me Mine. When we arrived and I walked up to the counter, I was curtly greeted with what felt like an obligatory "hi". We were a party of 3 so I figured I'd skip the reservation to give us a little more flexibility on arrival time (nice to have that flexibility with a preschooler!). I assumed this meant they would have the space to accommodate smaller groups that would walk in. We checked the website in advance to see if we needed to make a reservation, but the website states, "We accept reservations and walk-ins!" and I also read that reservations were recommended for large parties, but not necessary for smaller ones. Since I was painting with my 3-year-old, who wanted to take over my project once he completed his, I appreciated each item available for fixing "mistakes." Color Me Mine is a step ahead of you and makes sure each station is equipped with tools to help correct any mishaps. Occasionally, though, you have something in mind that requires a little fixing to achieve. When it comes to art and creating, I try hard to embrace the idea that there are no mistakes. The studio provides everything you need to bring your idea to life, from paintbrushes for coverage and fine details to sponges for creating texture and pattern. While the color wall appears to have repetitive colors in each row, it's important to pay close attention to the samples below each bottle. I passed that tidbit on to my son and encouraged him to pick whatever colors made him happy! Seeing all the vibrant colors reminded me to paint from my heart and choose what speaks to me. They also had a lot of cute banks, figurines, mugs, and dog items to choose from, with prices ranging from about $10-$42.Īfter deciding what to paint, you can choose your colors and begin the creative process. We visited ahead of mothers day and loved seeing so many pieces catered to the upcoming holiday. Once done, take some time to walk around and check out the variety of options available for painting. Fees are $6 for kids and $10 for adults and do not cover your ceramics. After arriving at the studio, you'll stop by the desk to pay the associated studio fees.
